Everlasting

from $700.00

Aiming to make the most of the PNW's La Nina summer (wetter, cloudier, cooler), I visited a favorite waterfall nearby this past weekend. I've hiked this trail many times but never to make an image. I'd always planned to create something that does this location justice, something different than the everyday snapshots you see, and the misty, overcast conditions provided the perfect opportunity.

The Cascades are covered in these painterly "horsetail" falls, where the descending water keeps in contact with the underlying rock as it surges down to its pool.

While this trail is usually packed, my early start rewarded me with the place to myself. I took a small side trail down to the river and donned my chest waders–a worthwhile investment if you like shooting waterfalls.
