Fog, Lupine, Sun... O My!
2am Thursday I took off from Seattle to photograph Rainier. First up–Sunrise at Sunrise. On the winding drive up to the visitor center, fog from the White River valley swept in and enveloped the mountain in a thick blanket. I'd most likely have to wait another day to photograph Rainier.
But as the veil of darkness lifted, new possibilities began to emerge. Photog phenom Michael Bollino and I had the place to ourselves, and we stood in awe as the scene transformed before us.
Here, a field of lupine glistens under morning dew as the sun's warm rays filter through the fog. We spent the next 30 minutes soaking in the beauty and exploring different compositions.
